Screening
A series of sports trials were conducted in 6 blocks – Arki, Khunti, Murhu, Rania, Torpa, Karra of Khunti, Jharkhand, including 14 cluster-level and 2 district-level open trials penetrating the interiors. From a population of 60,000 students in Khunti, these trials saw the enthusiastic participation of 5,000 students aged 10-16 who were assessed on their physical abilities to play various sports.
Selection
1,000 students qualified based on their physical competency. The selected students then underwent an intensive assessment of their specific sports competencies and athletic abilities, resulting in the selection of the top 2%—100 young talents – 36 for football, 36 for athletics, and 28 for hockey.
Training at Fully Integrated Residential Facility
Scouted students receive expert coaching, with one coach for every 16 students, ensuring personalized attention. They stay at a fully integrated residential facility, with a capacity of 100 students and train at state-of-the-art facilities with the latest sports kits and equipment and receive nutritional support and professional guidance. Additionally, they have access to nearby training centers with seamless commute facilities.
