Area: Sustainable Agriculture
Bhupinder, a seasoned farmer from Ludhiana, Punjab, has been dedicated to farming for over two decades. Like many small-scale farmers, he faced significant challenges, including labour-intensive processes, high operational costs, and inconsistent returns. Traditional spraying methods were particularly burdensome, being time-consuming, costly, and often yielding uneven results.
The introduction of boom sprayers marked a turning point in Bhupinder’s farming practices. He learned about this modern farming equipment designed to apply pesticides and fertilizers evenly and efficiently. Intrigued by its potential, Bhupinder decided to invest in a boom sprayer.
After receiving the boom sprayer, Bhupinder attended a training session provided by Project Sahyog. The project team taught him how to operate, maintain, and safely use the new equipment. Excited and hopeful, Bhupinder brought the boom sprayer to his fields and started using it immediately.
From the very first use, Bhupinder noticed a remarkable difference. The boom sprayer allowed him to cover large areas quickly and uniformly, eliminating the need to spend hours manually spraying each row of crops. This efficiency not only saved time but also reduced labor costs and resource wastage.
Thanks to Project Sahyog, Bhupinder’s farming practices have been revolutionized. The ease and cost-effectiveness of the boom sprayer, combined with an innovative rental service he introduced, have significantly improved his farm’s productivity and financial outlook. Bhupinder is truly grateful for the positive impact this project has had on his life and the lives of other farmers in his community.
